Complete Onboarding
After signing up, you will begin the 3-step onboarding process which takes less than a minute to complete. Onboarding is designed to help get you into your first fantasy league.
Step 1: Get Started
Step 1 provides initial information on how our fantasy NASCAR game works. Click "Let's Get Started" to proceed to step 2.
Step 2: Join a League
Step 2 allows you to join a league or create a new one. To play our fantasy NASCAR game, you must join a league first to set your lineup.
Find your first fantasy NASCAR leagueStep 3: Complete Onboarding
Step 3 is simply a confirmation step. Click "Go to Fantasy Dashboard" to complete the onboarding process and be redirected to your dashboard.
Join or Create a League
On your fantasy dashboard, there is a "Find A League" card with the options to join or create a league.
Public Leagues
If you click "Join League", you will see the list of all public NASCAR fantasy leagues available to join. You can filter leagues by series via the dropdown above the table.
Clicking "Join" will open a window where you can select your team name for that league. Team names are what you see in the standings and results within the league. Team names are unique per league.
Private Leagues
Private leagues are invite-only. To join a private league, you must be invited by the league admin.
Creating a League
By clicking "Create League", you will be taken to a page to setup the league details. You can set:
- The league name
- League series (Cup Series, O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, or Craftsman Truck Series)
- Your team name
- Whether the league is public or private
After creating your league, you will be directed to the league's home page.
Set Your Lineup
Once you join or create a league, you are ready to set your fantasy NASCAR lineup for that league. There are three ways to access the roster page:
- From the card on your fantasy dashboard
- In the navigation in the "Leagues" dropdown
- From the league home page in the header, to the right of the league name
TLDR;
- You can add two drivers from each class to your lineup
- Driver selection locks when qualifying starts for the race
- All 8 drivers can earn qualifying points
- You can swap your starter and bench driver until the race starts
- Only your 4 starters earn race points
Selecting Drivers
Fantasy NASCAR Roster PageViewing driver classes
The driver selection section lists all drivers available for the selected race, separated by class (A, B, C, D). To switch classes, click the tabs above the roster selection table.
Viewing the driver selection lock time
The red banner shows the "Driver selection deadline" time. This time is when qualifying begins for this race. Once qualifying starts, the driver selection locks for the weekend, and you are no longer able to add drivers to your roster.
Adding a driver to your lineup
To add a driver to your lineup, click the blue "+" button to the right of the driver column. This adds the driver to your lineup section on the left (or top on mobile).
You can add two drivers from each class. To set a full lineup, you must go through the A, B, C, and D classes, and select two drivers from each. The first driver you add for a class will be slotted into the starting position. If a starter is already set in your lineup for that class, the second driver will slot into the bench.
More on switching starter and bench drivers below.
Tracking starts remaining for each driver
This section shows the number of starts remaining you have for each driver, which is a key value in our fantasy NASCAR game. The goal is to not burn through the best drivers early in the season. If you run out of starts with a driver, you will no longer be able to add them to your roster.
Viewing points-per-race and other stats
This section also includes a variety of stats for each driver in the current season. PPR (Points Per Race) shows the average number of fantasy points each driver has earned during the season. The highest PPR is the top performing driver.
Managing Your Lineup
Now that you have your 8 drivers selected, you will see them on your roster. 4 drivers are in the starter slots, and 4 drivers are in the bench slots.
Swapping a driver between starter and bench
Clicking the up and down arrow will move a driver between the starter and bench slot for their class. For example, if you click the arrows for a starting driver, it will move them to your bench. To remove a driver from your lineup, click the red "-" icon.
Roster lock time
When the initial driver selection deadline noted above passes (once qualifying starts), your 8-driver roster is locked. At this time, you are no longer able to add new drivers to your roster, or remove existing ones.
However, you can still swap your starter and bench driver up until the race begins. Once the race starts, your lineup locks, and your 4 starters will be the drivers who earn you points from the race.
Lineup Strategy
The lock times and starter and bench drivers create the opportunity for strategy throughout the race weekend.
If a driver is consistently qualifying in the top 3, such as Chase Briscoe last season, it makes sense to add them to your lineup even if you don't intend on starting them, to try and capture qualifying points. You can keep him on your bench for the race, and his qualifying points still count towards your total points earned for the weekend.
A start is deducted if the driver is in a starting slot when the race begins.
Viewing Live Fantasy Race Results
The league's fantasy race results page is where you can view the running order of all fantasy teams competing in a league during the race.
After qualifying starts and the driver selection locks, a section is available at the top of the league page linking to the league results page. You can also access this page by clicking the "Results" tab and selecting the current race.
The "View live scoring" league home page section becomes available after qualifying startsAfter qualifying, this page lists all league members, and what drivers they selected for each class. However, it does not tell you who they have set as their starter or bench driver.
Once the race begins, this page updates to show the starters and bench drivers for the race, along with the total points earned for each member. The results update in real-time throughout the race, allowing you to follow the leaderboard and watch teams rise/fall in the running order during a race.
Results from all races (including previous seasons) are able to be viewed at any time.
Navigating Your League
This section walks you through different parts of your league page, and how to access different areas of the league.
How to view your fantasy league page
To view your league, you can access it via:
- The fantasy dashboard by clicking the "View League" button on your league card
- The navigation under the "Leagues" dropdown
This will take you to your league's home page. This page has links to all areas of your league, which I will walk through below.
League Header
The league header shows the name of the league, allows you to view previous years of the league, provides a link to update your team settings for the league, and to access your roster page.
Viewing previous league years
If your league was on our platform in previous seasons, the "League Season" dropdown next to the league name allows you to view the league from prior fantasy seasons. I migrated last season's data to our new platform. If your league was with us last year, you should be able to view all league data from last season.
The previous season view is the same as the current season view, where you can see the points standings, results, fantasy stats, and all data from that season.
Your Team Settings
Your team settings page is where you can update your team name for the league, as well as update your avatar, which appears next to your team name in the fantasy points standings and result tables, and anywhere your team name is listed.
Avatars are real driver schemes, designed by Diecast Charv. Schemes dating back to 2018 are available, as well as classic schemes. Setting your avatar allows you to stand out in your league and makes it easy to identify you when viewing standings/results.
League Settings (For League Admins)
If you are a league admin, the "League Settings" link brings you to the page where you can manage all settings for your league. More information on this in the section below.
League Tabs
League home page with League Standings tab selectedBelow the league header, four tabs are available, which hold a bulk of the information related to the league, such as viewing the league standings, results, members and messages.
Standings
The standings tab shows the fantasy points standings for your league. This is where you will see all members, and the total points they have earned through the season so far.
If you played Yahoo fantasy NASCAR back in the day, you are familiar with the season segments as well. Segments are three individual sets of points standings. For the Cup Series, the Spring segment holds the first 13 races, Summer is the next 13 races, and Fall is the last 13 races.
Segment points only include the races within that segment. This means if you had a terrible start to the year, or joined late, you still have an opportunity to win the Summer or Fall points segments.
There is also a dropdown where you can select any completed races. This filters the points standings to show what the points were after that specific race. If you were curious who was leading your points after the DAYTONA 500, you can select this race to view how the points stood after that race.
Results
This table lists all races completed for the season, along with the fantasy winner. You can click any of the races to view the full league results for that race.
Members
The members tab simply allows you to view all active members in the league. You can click a member's name, which will take you to their individual team page, where you can view their stats and results for each season.
Messages
Leagues have dedicated message boards for all league members to chat. Use this for race chatter, sharing important information, talking smack, asking questions, or anything else your league may need to communicate about.
League Footer
The league footer includes additional links to other areas of the league.
View Standings by Week
This page holds a chart where you can view the points position after each race for all members in your fantasy NASCAR league. You can select a member's name to highlight their line in the chart. This is a fun way to see league members journeys over the course of the racing season.
Past Champions
This page shows all past champions for the league. If your league was with us in prior seasons, this page will automatically show past champions from those seasons (coming soon). League admins also have the ability to manually add past champions (by purchasing League Admin Pro). This is helpful if your league existed before moving to our platform.
League Awards
Speedway Collective has an awards system, which grants awards to members for a variety of accomplishments, such as winning a fantasy race, hitting milestones, achieving a perfect lineup, and winning the championship.
When you receive awards, you will see a pop-up the next time you view your league page with all awards you have won.
This feature is new, and we will be adding more awards as we go.
Another feature coming soon will allow league admins to create custom awards to grant to members within the league.
Managing A League
If you created a league, it means you are the admin for that league. As a league admin, you have special access to customize a variety of league settings. Click the "League Settings" link in the league header to access the settings page.
Here, you can change a number of settings for your league. Some settings are free, while others are included in League Admin Pro, which is a paid membership allowing you to access and adjust premium settings for your league.
Four tabs are available at the top of the settings page.
General
This is where you can update basic information on the league, such as the league name and whether the league is public or private. As part of League Admin Pro, you can also:
- Choose to keep driver selection open for your league until the race starts, instead of having driver selection lock at qualifying.
- Adjust the number of starts remaining for drivers
Members
This section allows you to manage the members for your league. To invite new members, you can send them an invite by adding their email to this section and clicking "Send Invite". You can also generate a sharable link, which you copy to send as a text, via Discord, or any other places you may want to share your league.
You also have the ability to manage all existing members for your league. By clicking "Edit Member", you can:
- Edit their team name
- Change their avatar
- Make them a league admin
- Deactivate the member
Giving them league admin access provides full access to the league settings page. Deactivating them will remove them from the league, preventing them from viewing the league and submitting lineups. If a member is deactivated during a season, they will still appear in the standings/results for races they were entered in.
Scoring
This is where you can adjust all scoring settings for your league. This section is available with League Admin Pro. You can adjust race, stage, and qualifying points for each position individually. You may also adjust existing bonus points we offer, such as bonus points for the winning driver, having a driver who leads a lap, leads the most laps, runs the fastest lap. You can view the default points for each position on our rules page.
Past Champions
This is where league admins can manually enter past champions for their league. This feature is a part of League Admin Pro.
